Succulents Cebu and Cactus Collection- 7 Succulent Plant Facts
1. Succulents come
from dry (desert) locations
Succulents first appeared on the planet from areas with long
arid dry seasons and store water in their stems and leaves.
2. Their name was
taken from their thick, sap filled leaves.
Succulent or "sucus" in latin means juice or sap.
3. There are about 60
different plant families that contain succulents.
These families includes, Cactacae (cactus) and
Xanthorrhoeaeceae (aloe vera)
4. You can find them
in different colors
Although the most common are green, succulents come in blue,
purple, pink, orange and even red.
5. Succulents are
pest resistant
Part of the reason why they’re so easy to maintain is that
these plants are highly pest and predator resistant.
6. You can use
succulent cuttings to grow new plants
To grow new plants, simply cut off a part of the mother
plant and let it dry in the sun and plant it in dirt and water.
7. Succulents are often mistakenly linked with
cactus.
Cactus are succulents, but not all succulents are cactus.
Their difference? The thorns!

Replanting Succulents and Cactus Plants
In replanting succulents and cacti to other pots, remove plants from their current pots and plant them by making sure the soil level remains the same depth on the plant.
Once established, your succulents will benefit from a layer of pebbles or small gravel spread on the soil around the plant. This is a decorative method while at the same time making sure water drains out well away from the plants!
